Purple Ranch Lavender Farm at the 58th Annual Bluebonnet Trails Festival

ROYSE CITY, TX – The Purple Ranch Lavender Farm is coming to the 58th Annual Bluebonnet Trials Festival on Friday, April 17, 2009 through Sunday, April 19, 2009. The Bluebonnet Festival will be located in downtown Ennis at Pierce Park on Main Street and Ennis Avenue and will focus on gifts and collectibles. The Ennis Garden Club is sponsoring this year’s festival. Purple Ranch is excited to be part of this event offering custom lavender gift boxes, soaps, lotions, candles, and much more just in time for Mother’s Day. This event is on Friday from 11:00am – 6pm, Saturday from 9:00am – 6:00pm and Sunday from 9am – 6:00pm.
Purple Ranch has been featured at many events in and around Texas and recently showcased at the State Fair of Texas in Dallas. Located in Royse City, Texas, Purple Ranch is now thriving where just a few years ago, June Hand, owner, was told that the dark, Texas clay would not sustain growth. After losing 75% of her crop the first year due to torrential rains, causing a wide-spread fungus and destroying a large portion of her crop, she continued to chase the dream. Hand said, “I have always dreamed of owning and running my own business and with a life-long interest in plants and flowers, this is definitely a dream come true.”
After harvesting the lavender, the Hand Family creates hand-made products. “Almost everything that we sell is made from the lavender grown on the farm.” At least once a month, they sell their lavender products at craft fairs, business expos, local chamber events, or festivals in and around Texas.
