Purple Ranch Lavender Farm at the 14th Annual Rowlett Festival of Freedom

ROYSE CITY, TX – The Purple Ranch Lavender Farm is coming to the 14^th Annual Festival of Freedom on June 28^th and 29^th in Rowlett, Texas. This year’s event will include live entertainment, food, arts and crafts and fireworks on both nights. Purple Ranch Lavender Farm is excited to be part of this event offering custom gift baskets and boxes, soaps, lotions, candles, and much more on Saturday from 1:00pm – 10:30pm and Sunday from 1:00pm – 10:00pm. The Farm is thriving where just a few years ago, June Hand, owner, was told that the dark, Texas clay would not sustain growth. After losing 75% of her crop the first year due to torrential rains, causing a wide-spread fungus and destroying a large portion of her crop, she continued to chase the dream.  Hand said, “I have always dreamed of owning and running my own business and with a life-long interest in plants and flowers, this is definitely a dream come true.” 

After harvesting the lavender, the Hand Family creates hand-made products.  “Almost everything that we sell is made from the lavender grown on the farm.”  At least once a month, they sell their lavender products at craft fairs, business expos, local chamber events, or festivals in and around Texas.
