Purple Ranch Lavender Farm at the 118th Annual Brenham Maifest

ROYSE CITY, TX – The Purple Ranch Lavender Farm is coming to the 118th Annual Brenham Maifest on May 10th in Brenham, Texas. This event will include a carnival, parade, music, food, and other German festivities and this year has promised to be another successful year. Purple Ranch Lavender Farm is excited to be part of this event offering custom Mother’s Day gift baskets and boxes, soaps, lotions, candles, and much more on Saturday from 10:00am – 6:00pm. For more information go to www.maifest.org.
The Farm is thriving where just a few years ago, June Hand, owner, was told that the dark, Texas clay would not sustain growth. After losing 75% of her crop the first year due to torrential rains, causing a wide-spread fungus and destroying a large portion of her crop, she continued to chase the dream. Hand said, “I have always dreamed of owning and running my own business and with a life-long interest in plants and flowers, this is definitely a dream come true.”
After harvesting the lavender, the Hand Family creates hand-made products. “Almost everything that we sell is made from the lavender grown on the farm.” At least once a month, they sell their lavender products at craft fairs, business expos, local chamber events, or festivals in and around Texas.
